GRC Leading the Way at Black Creek Trails

The Gadsden Runners Club is excited to announce a new addition to The Black Creek Trails!

In partnership with North East Alabama Bikers Association (NEABA) and the City of Gadsden, construction will begin on a kids mountain bike and trail run skills loop.

This loop will be adjacent to the campground and close to parking by the chapel. This course will allow kids and novice runners and riders the opportunity to learn skills while staying close to the trail-head and under parental supervision when desired.

This new loop will also connect to the upper Cascade Trail and allow a second way across Cascade Creek. Having a second crossing will allow Gadsden to compete for and hold large mt bike races in the future.  It also means no more two-way traffic on the Black Creek Bridge on race days!

Funding for the project was raised by GRC Trail events held at Noccalula Falls Park, events co-sponsored with NEABA and a donation from Cheaha Challenge.

Work on the extension is expected to begin immediately and conclude before the year’s end.

Volunteer labor will be required to help make this project possible.

Your continued support as we help to improve our community is appreciated.
