About
Fort McClellan was a United States Army post located adjacent to the city of Anniston, Alabama. During World War II, it was one of the largest U.S. Army installations, training an estimated half-million troops.
Fun fact: There may (or may not be) land mines and ordnance still found on the fort. Be careful and don’t stray off the trail too far.??
Race will start and end at the McClellan bike trailhead.

4hr/8hr
4hr and 8hr: Start at 6am
Trail is 4-mile loop, single track, runnable with a few rocks but not technical.
Elevation is approximately 300 feet for one loop.
Aid Stations
There will be a self-serve full aid station with all your favorite snacky snacks at the start/finish that we will keep stocked (vegan options as well please let us know you are vegan). We will also be grilling up some grilled cheese and vegan grilled cheese.
We will man and serve you water, Coke, Ginger Ale and Tailwind.
You may also set up your own aid station at the start/finish, at your car, in the grass or at the outdoor amphitheater.
Perks, Awards and Finish
Each runner will get a soft t-shirt. Shirt deadline is February 16th so make sure you sign up before to guarantee you get a shirt.
Overall top three Females and Males for each distance will get a handmade award.
Up for a distance challenge?
4hrs: Complete four loops for 16 miles and get a special award.
8hrs: Complete eight loops for a 50k and get a special award.
Everyone who gets out on the course and completes one loop will get handmade dog tags
Additional challenge. Top female and top male who beat the longest distance from the previous year in the 4hr and 8hr, will earn a FREE race entry into next years race.

Friday, March 8, 2023. Location: TBD.. You may also pick up your packet on race day from 5-5:50am.

There is plenty of parking in the parking lot across from the trailhead.
There are no refunds, deferrals, credits or friend/family transfers on entries.

This race would not be possible without our trails and the hard work that goes into maintaining them by the McClellan Development Authority. A percentage of registration fees will go to MDA.
